It's not always that way.
GEX Gives me it's fair bit of headaches for sure. Our Academy Headmaster, who is in charge of pairing new recruits with a mentor both in their time-zone, and division, and I, we don't see eye to eye.
He would have GEX accept any recruit regardless of our rules, standards, and requirements. He refuses to send our new recruits to any mentor in a certain wormhole of ours, and to be honest, at times, he sets my 'dont trust' senses to a heightened alert. But most other times, when not acting as his role dictates, he's a decent person.
Then there's the usual issues, before I implemented the Interview Form, we had the occasional interview log come up missing, or API information not being saved in the spreadsheet, all of which was relatively low on the stress meter.
Most of the headaches come from applicants. We get our fair share of griefers who pass through. They're super easy to pick out. Usually very blunt, asking questions like 'how many ships are in your wormholes' and 'can i have hanger access' and so on and so fourth. They're usually very rude, or jumpy, or nosy.
Then we get our fair share of members who don't meet our minimum skill-point requirement. They are most times cool with it, and go find something else to do in EVE. Some people, however, say that it's rather rude to require a certain amount of skill points. They feel like they can contribute in some way with their 124k skill points - but don't realize that no, they cant. To fully benefit from wormhole space, you need to have a solid tanked battleship, with remote repper capabilities, you need to fly a very well tanked battle cruiser, and fit t2 gas harvesters. Wormhole life is very skill-intensive, and that's why we put a minimum. That rule is for the well-being of every member. Those with lower skill-points than needed can often times serve as a liability to those around them.

Global Economy Experts
I'll start my journey today by telling you a bit about the Corporation for which I work.
Global Economy Experts is an absolutely amazing Industry Corporation based entirely in Worm Hole Space. I'll give you a bit of backstory on EVE corporations. Most small-time operations have absolutely no organizational structure, or anything. It's a real fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants operation. The solid corporate structure is generally reserved for the huge alliances, with upwards of 1000 members.
Global Economy Experts (GEX) is a middle-weight corporation. We've got about 170 members, and we don't hold any 0.0 sov systems, which I guess is pretty impressive.
To say the very least, I've never been in a corporation run as well as GEX. Our CEO, Viaris, is magnificent at what he does. We have a solid mentor program, in which new members are assigned to a veteran player, who helps the recruit learn the ropes, as wormhole space is a totally different ballgame. Once members graduate from our Academy, they are authorized wormhole access from a mentor.
Based on skillsets of individual players, recruits are assigned a mentor and placed into one of 3 divisions: Combat, Operations and Trade.
There is a fair bit of multitasking done in any division however, each player is expected to have the skills needed to clear combat sites, and harvest gas if you want :) Multitasking is in the best interest of everyone involved in the corporation.
When it comes to recruitment, that's where I come in :) When I joined GEX, we had 1.5 recruitment officers, and a rather slow growth. After a few months, I volunteered for the position of Recruitment officer, and spearheaded a recruitment drive, and our member-pool grew by 30 members in 1 month.
That is in-and-of-itself impressive, but even more so when security is a paramount factor in GEX. Wormhole life is very dependent on trust and security. Everyone's ships are stored in communal maintenance arrays, and items stored in the communal hanger arrays, making it impossibly easy for someone with ill intentions to steal someone's faction fitted battleship or tech3 and run. That's why we do extensive background checks on our potential members. We request API Keys, to check the backgrounds of any and all alts, and we cross-reference with Killboards, and the Eve Forums, we check up on previous corporations, and look for patterns amongst members coming from the same places. We keep record of everyone who's ever been a member, we store interview logs, and regularly check to make sure our on-file API key is still current. These responsibilities rest with the Human Resources Department. We also maintain the corporations' Recruitment Adverts, and highsec propaganda cans.
I Developed a tool for ease-of-use when it comes to conducting interviews. Using Google Docs, and the form generator, all from one website, I can input all the required data from an applicant, API Key, Time Zone, Skillpoints, interview log, and other important bits of information, all of which is seamlessly dumped into a spreadsheet shared by those within the corp who require that information.

Welcome to GEX:HR
Hi all,
This blog is dedicated to the Recruitment Officers, and Human Resource Directors of some of EVE's larger corporations.
It's a resume really, proof to the world that 'playing' the role of a HR Rep for a fictional company actually correlates directly to real-world experience in the field of Human Resources. That is to say, a hobby can in fact give you real-life skills that can translate to making non-isk money.
So my goal, is to find an employer who doesn't think I'm retarded, someone who'll actually visit this blog, and realize that I'm not crazy! Enjoy :)
